About

Xuran Guo (b.2000) earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Penn State University in 2022 and completed her Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in 2024. Currently, she lives and works in London.
Guo’s art is deeply influenced by Francis Bacon, Max Ernst, and Salvador Dalí. Through experimental techniques and self-exploration, she authentically translates her personal experiences of desire, attachment, and the drive of death onto the canvas. Her work reflects her views on body awareness, self-acceptance, and societal norms through the deconstruction and reconstruction of the human form. Driven by a desire to understand herself and the world, Guo’s creations are shaped by her unique perspective. Her art serves as a vessel, reflecting society, life, and her emotions, encompassing elements of complexity, absurdity, melancholy, and struggle.
Through her work, Guo invites viewers to explore their relationships with desire, love, fear, and mortality, aiming to evoke resonance and self-reflection. She seeks to raise awareness about these profound themes, hoping to connect with her audience and foster shared understanding.

为什么说情爱就是小的呢?为什么说幽微的东西就是次等的呢?在我看来,人心就是最大的啊,它比整个世界都要大,人是万物的尺度,是存在者存在的尺度。
To me, the human heart is the grandest of all; it encompasses more than the entire world. Humanity is the measure of all things, the very gauge of existence itself.
